Flat File / Glowforge Stand
This is my version of the ideal flat file. Most flat files in my experience are too deep to fit in a home or workshop comfortably. This version is 26 3/4” deep 46 1/4” wide, and 24” tall (28” with casters). The interior of the drawers are 25” x 42” allowing for 24”x36” materials to sit comfortably inside. Or if you are a glowforge user, it allows for 3 stacks of precut 12” x 20.5” sheets.
The digital download includes an 15 page PDF with DIY instructions on how to build the cabinet as well as a 4 page layout guide for cutting your sheet goods.
This is an Intermediate level project, and requires an average amount of woodworking equipment to complete. It’s recommended you have a table saw.
Total Dimensions
without casters: H 24” W 46 1/4” D 26 3/4”
3” casters will make it 4” taller (28”)
