Patterned Plywood Tea Box

This tea box is the perfect project if you are looking to make Patterned Plywood for your first time. It also makes a great gift!

This digital download includes an 11 page PDF with step-by-step instructions on how to make this lidded box. Plus I have a supplementary video on YouTube that takes you through the whole process.

This is a Beginner level project. It does require a table saw and basic table saw skills. If you don’t have a Spline Jig already plans are available for that as well.

Materials

  • Plywood scrap roughly 12” (300mm) x 12” (300mm) x 3/4” (18mm)

  • Two contrasting hardwoods (the sample used ash and mahogany)

  • Wood glue

  • Painters tape

  • Rubberbands

Tools

  • Table saw with miter gauge or miter sled and crosscut sled

  • Band saw (recommended)

  • Spline jig (plans available)

  • Flush cut saw
